This last week was the K/BIS kitchen and bath expo in Las Vegas, so Brundy and I decided to head up and check it out to have a look around, shake some hands, and get some ideas for the booth we are planning on doing later this year at the Orange County Fairgrounds. My brother in law was there with his friend Tom selling the most incredible sinks at the massive show.
After getting the guys started at the shop and getting in half a day of work, Brundy and I got on the road around noon. We made great time and had a ludicrous (yet productive) brainstorming session regarding a couple other projects we’ve got in workshop.
After checking in we went to dinner with my sister, brother in law, Tom and his son Max. They told us how overwhelming the show was and how well they did selling their sinks. Dinner was awesome, but the Kitty Club was even better. Nothing better than listening a 90’s cover band & watching drunk white people dance. Far and away the best dancer was the big guy in the poker shirt dancing up a storm and somehow managing to harmoniously mesh the mamba and the electric slide. Anyways it was a good time.
Next morning we headed over to the show. We started at the smallest of the three halls, The South Hall where my brother-in-law had his booth. I’d say the Caesarstone people took the cake for best booth with their full bar, DJ, and amazing product. http://www.caesarstone.com
Towards the end of the aisle and the South Hall we saw a booth that had the laser engraving machine that I had been looking at on-line. We stopped and talked with the sales rep for a while, one thing led to another, and come summer time, Surface Pros will be offering laserstone engraving.
After 5 hours of mind boggling ideas and sensory overload, we went back to the room with countless ideas and worked on content for the website. Torture! But we got it all done.
Coolest part of the trip was the night’s dinner with my sister, brother in law, Max, Tom and Brundy, at The Steak House at Mandalay Bay and the Carrot Top Show. Sooooo funny. He was very wasted and incredibly funny. Next time hopefully Kris can get us better seats, second row just doesn’t cut it. J.K. Thanks Kris, “Awesome Night”.
We pushed out at 6:30 the following morning after a few venti drinks from Starbucks and once again made fantastic time.
Can’t wait for thr kitchen and bath show in october in Costa Mesa
